Up for your consideration is a vintage bronze statue/figurine. This is marked Hand made in Greece. I believe it is suppose to be a Greek Mythology God but not positive. He is naked with a shield and long throwing arrow. The arrow does have some bends in it. Not sure if it was like that originally. The guy is approximately 9 3/4 tall. The arrow is 11 1/4 tall. The bottom has some green felt on it. There is a spot missing. Please look closely at photos. Thank you for looking!

Marble Dimensions: 7 1/2. Height without base: 20. The Roman legion soldier stands nude, except for some regalia, looking to the horizon of a scarred battlefield. A top of his head he wears a galea, which is a soldier’s helmet. A baldric straps across his chest which is leather belt typically used to carry a weapon. His paludamentum, which is cloak usually fastened to one shoulder, slides down his back falling in between his legs. A shield rests on shins as he fashions to repair a weapon. The bronze sculpture was cast using the age-old method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for perpetuation. It is mounted upon a black marble base with the artist. Upon his head he wears a galea which was a soldiers helmet made of bronze. He wears a metal armor around his torso over the knee-length tunic. A paludamentum falls down his back, which is a cloak fastened to the shoulders usually worn by military commanders. At his feet are caligae which were heavy-soled sandals. His left hand holds a spear against the ground as he looks far off into the distance. The handmade bronze sculpture was molded using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and stained with a green patina finish for preservation. It`s definitelty one of a kind. About the Artist: Edouard Drouot, born in Sommevoire, France, April 3, 1859; deceased in Paris May 22, 1945.
